A logstore should earn its place in the garden by looking as considered as the patio it sits on. The Square Corten Steel Logstore does exactly that: a clean-lined British-made store that treats your firewood as a design feature, not something to apologise for behind the shed.

Manufactured in Britain from 100% certified structural-grade Corten steel, the square format is engineered to hold a serious quantity of seasoned logs while still reading as architecture. A 50mm front lip and 15mm rear lip keep split timber neatly contained, drainage holes prevent water pooling, and 15mm raised feet lift the base clear of damp paving. Rear cross-bracing keeps the frame rigid even with a full winter's worth of fuel inside.

Three sizes give you flexibility against the geometry of your patio: 100 x 100 x 40cm at £395, 120 x 120 x 40cm, or the substantial 150 x 150 x 40cm. The Corten weathers naturally into a warm auburn patina across the first year and stops there, protecting the steel beneath. Why Corten steel for a logstore?

Corten is weathering steel: it forms a stable oxide layer that protects the steel beneath and holds its weathered colour for 20 to 30 years, with no painting and no seasonal storage. That is why all three Weather-it logstores are built from structural-grade Corten in Britain rather than from painted mild steel, which needs recoating. The one thing to plan for is the first season: while it is patinating, Corten bleeds orange run-off onto pale paving, and on porous stone that can leave a permanent mark, so settle the position before the first winter.
