Quick verdict

The smaller of Adezz's wood-fired planchas: Ø805mm x H1000mm, 129kg, with the same 10mm S235 steel cooking plate as the Seare Halo, rated to 275-300°C. Its deep ring holds enough wood to bring the plate up to temperature in 15-25 minutes -- faster than the larger Seare Halo. The most affordable route into the Seare cooking ring.

  • Eye-Catching Design: The SEARE BOLE is a striking garden centrepiece, well suited to creating memorable evenings around the fire with food and friends.

  • Efficient Heat Distribution: The wood-fired SEARE ring ensures steady heat across the entire surface, and its deep design holds a large amount of wood for fast heating.

  • Easy Maintenance: Inward-sloping ring prevents drips, and cleaning is simple, oil the grill and scrape off residue to prepare for the next use.

  • Versatile Cooking: The optional grill set allows for adjustable cooking heights, creating different heat zones for various dishes (grill set sold separately).

  • Durable & Convenient: Made from corten steel with a pre-weathered rust layer; includes wood storage space and optional wheels for mobility.

Seare Bole Plancha Grill questions, answered

What are the dimensions and weight of the Seare Bole Plancha Grill?

Dimensions; Ø805 x 1000 mm, Thickness: 2 mm, Weight: 129 kg, SEARE ring Ø 805 mm, 10-mm thick S235 steel grill plate.

How does the Seare Bole Plancha Grill work, what fuel does it use?

It burns wood. The wood-fired SEARE ring gives steady heat across the plate, and its deep design holds enough wood to heat up quickly.

What’s included with the Seare Bole Plancha Grill, and what do I need to add separately?

It includes wood storage space in the base. An optional grill set for adjustable cooking heights, and optional wheels for mobility, are sold separately.

Does the Seare Bole Plancha Grill need any special care as the Corten steel weathers?

We do not recommend using corten steel within 2 km of a coastline. The rust can be fixed by applying Owatrol. This is a penetrating rust inhibitor that forms a protective anti-rust coating. Owatrol protects the product and stops the rust on corten steel flaking off.

How is the Seare Bole Plancha Grill delivered, and how long does it take?

We deliver Free to mainland United Kingdom within 5 to 10 working days. Additional charges may apply for remote areas in Scotland, Wales, Devon and Cornwall. Larger items are delivered on a pallet, kerbside, the driver isn’t required to carry it past obstacles like steps, so let us know at checkout if your access is tricky.

What warranty does the Seare Bole Plancha Grill come with?

It’s backed by Adezz’s 5-Year Manufacturer Guarantee. On top of that, Fireside Boutique’s standard policy is 45-day returns on unused items in their original packaging (you cover return shipping on a non-faulty return, which is worth weighing up given the weight of these pieces).

Which Adezz outdoor cooking piece is the Seare Bole?

The Seare Bole is the smaller wood-fired plancha, Ø805 x H1000 mm and 129 kg, with the same 10mm S235 steel cooking plate as the Seare Halo, rated to 275 to 300°C. Its deep ring holds enough wood to bring the plate up in around 15 to 25 minutes, faster than the Damm, which takes 25 to 30 minutes to the same range, and it is the most affordable route into the Seare cooking ring.

Model Fuel Size Weight Price
Seare Halo (wood) Wood Ø1005 x H1000 mm 144.5 kg From £1,895
Seare Halo Piezo (gas) Gas Ø805 or Ø1005 x H1000 mm 135 to 182.5 kg From £2,095
Seare Bole (this one) Wood Ø805 x H1000 mm 129 kg From £1,695
Cosa Wood Ø635 x H600 mm 39 kg From £939
Damm Wood 700 x 900 x 2000 mm 146 kg From £1,475
Wood-fired or gas-fired plancha: which should you choose?

A wood-fired plancha asks you to build and manage a fire before you cook, which takes longer and gives you smoke, flame and the ritual of it. A gas-fired plancha lights on a piezo spark and comes up to temperature without logs or ash, which is what makes weeknight cooking realistic. Adezz makes both in the same Seare Halo body, so the decision is purely how much effort you want the cooking to ask of you: the wood Seare Halo at £1,895, or the Seare Halo Piezo at £2,095. The Seare Bole sits on the wood-fired side of it, at the smaller Ø805 ring.

Is Corten or stainless steel better for an outdoor cooking piece?

Adezz builds the Seare Bole in Corten, not stainless, and the two age in opposite directions. Corten is weathering steel: it forms a stable rust-coloured oxide layer that then protects the metal beneath, and the Seare Bole holds that russet colour for 20 to 30 years with no painting and no winter storage. Brushed stainless instead keeps the finish it arrived with and never patinates, which suits a contemporary terrace of glass, render and pale stone, though it wants an occasional wipe to stay that way. Choose the Seare Bole, which is Corten, if you want the piece to settle into the garden and read as part of it; if a fixed silver finish matters more, our stainless fire pit guide covers the alternatives we stock. The one thing to plan for is the Seare Bole's first season: Corten bleeds orange run-off onto pale paving while it patinates, and on porous stone that can leave a permanent mark, so settle its position before you light it. Our fire pit materials guide sets out how each material ages.

Plancha, pizza oven or fire pit: which Adezz piece cooks what?

A plancha is a solid steel cooking plate heated from beneath, so it handles fish, vegetables and anything that would fall through a grill bar. The Dome pizza oven is a closed wood-fired chamber for pizza and bread instead. A plain fire pit like the Halo is for the fire rather than the food. If you want one piece that does fire and cooking on a small patio, the Cosa at £939 is the compact answer.

Key Points of Interest

  • Reaches cooking temperature fast: the wood-fired SEARE ring brings the 10mm S235 steel plate to 275-300C in 15-25 minutes.
  • Built to stay put: at 129kg on a corten steel body, this is a piece to site once rather than move around the garden.
  • No drip mess: the inward-sloping ring keeps fat and juices off the fire, so cleaning is an oil-and-scrape rather than a scrub.
  • Grows with you: the base doubles as wood storage, and an optional grill set adds adjustable cooking heights for several dishes at once (sold separately).
