You can choose between Corten steel or Coated steel. Corten steel arrives unrusted and develops an orange-brown patina as it weathers, which most owners choose for its aged, garden-architecture look. Coated steel is the choice if you want a more uniform look from day one or the piece lives somewhere more sheltered.

The Enok is the only Adezz fireplace you can hang. It comes wall mounted or with a base, which makes it the answer for a courtyard where floor space is the constraint and there is a solid wall to carry 97 kg. Both formats are 3mm steel and both come in Corten or coated finish.

An outdoor fireplace and a fire pit are not interchangeable, and the Enok is the fireplace side of that choice. A fireplace stands upright with a flue, so it draws smoke up and away and throws heat forward from a single opening, which makes it a focal point against a wall or at the end of a terrace. A fire pit sits low and open, radiating in every direction, so people can sit all the way round it. Choose a fireplace when the seating faces one way and smoke drifting across the table is the thing to avoid; choose a pit when the fire itself is the centre of the circle. If the fire is meant to sit in the middle of the seating instead, the Halo fire pit and Quad fire table are the open-format alternatives.

The Enok comes in Corten or coated steel: the same 3mm body, finished two ways, and the choice is whether you want it to change. Corten is weathering steel, forming a stable rust-coloured oxide layer that protects the metal beneath and holds that russet look for 20 to 30 years with no painting. Coated steel keeps the Enok the colour it arrived in, which is the right answer when it has to match existing dark metalwork or when an orange transition would fight the planting. Coated finishes hold up well outdoors provided you keep a cover on the piece over the off-season. For most British gardens the Corten Enok is the lower-maintenance default; pick the coated one when a fixed colour matters more than a weathered one. The one thing to plan for is the Enok's first season: Corten bleeds orange run-off onto pale paving while it patinates, and on porous stone that can leave a permanent mark, so settle the position before you light it.
