Quick verdict

The most affordable and most compact of Adezz's dedicated plancha pieces: Ø635mm x H600mm, 39kg in 3mm Corten steel with a 10mm S235 steel grill plate. The removable grill ring lets you switch between cooking on the plate and using it as an open wood fire bowl. Far smaller and lighter than the Seare planchas -- the sensible pick for a patio that cannot host a 130kg+ cooking station.

Cosa Fire Pit and Plancha Grill questions, answered

What are the dimensions and weight of the Cosa Fire Pit and Plancha Grill?

Dimensions: Ø635 x H600 mm, Thickness: 3 mm, Weight: 39 kg.

How does the Cosa Fire Pit and Plancha Grill work, what fuel does it use?

It burns wood. The grill ring lifts out, so you can switch between cooking on the plate and using it as an open fire bowl.

What’s included with the Cosa Fire Pit and Plancha Grill, and what do I need to add separately?

It includes drainage holes and stainless steel mounting materials, plus the removable grill ring.

Does the Cosa Fire Pit and Plancha Grill need any special care as the Corten steel weathers?

We do not recommend using corten steel within 2 km of a coastline. Rust can be fixed by applying Owatrol. This is a penetrating rust inhibitor that forms a protective anti-rust coating. Owatrol protects the product and stops the rust on corten steel flaking off.

How is the Cosa Fire Pit and Plancha Grill delivered, and how long does it take?

We deliver Free to mainland United Kingdom within 5 to 10 working days. Additional charges may apply for remote areas in Scotland, Wales, Devon and Cornwall. Larger items are delivered on a pallet, kerbside, the driver isn’t required to carry it past obstacles like steps, so let us know at checkout if your access is tricky.

What warranty does the Cosa Fire Pit and Plancha Grill come with?

It’s backed by Adezz’s 5-Year Manufacturer Guarantee. On top of that, Fireside Boutique’s standard policy is 45-day returns on unused items in their original packaging (you cover return shipping on a non-faulty return, which is worth weighing up given the weight of these pieces).

Which Adezz outdoor cooking piece is the Cosa?

The Cosa is the one Adezz piece that is genuinely both a fire pit and a plancha. At Ø635 x H600 mm and 39 kg in 3mm Corten it is far smaller and lighter than the Seare planchas, and at £939 it is the least expensive of the dedicated Adezz plancha pieces, which makes it the sensible pick for a patio that cannot host a 130 kg cooking station.

Model Fuel Size Weight Price

Seare Halo Piezo (gas) Gas Ø805 or Ø1005 x H1000 mm 135 to 182.5 kg From £2,095
Seare Bole Wood Ø805 x H1000 mm 129 kg From £1,695

Wood-fired or gas-fired plancha: which should you choose?

A wood-fired plancha asks you to build and manage a fire before you cook, which takes longer and gives you smoke, flame and the ritual of it. A gas-fired plancha lights on a piezo spark and comes up to temperature without logs or ash, which is what makes weeknight cooking realistic. Adezz makes both in the same Seare Halo body, so the decision is purely how much effort you want the cooking to ask of you: the wood Seare Halo at £1,895, or the Seare Halo Piezo at £2,095. The Cosa sits outside that choice: it is wood-fired, and doubling as a fire pit on a small patio is the reason to pick it.

Is Corten or stainless steel better for an outdoor cooking piece?

Adezz builds the Cosa in Corten, not stainless, and the two age in opposite directions. Corten is weathering steel: it forms a stable rust-coloured oxide layer that then protects the metal beneath, and the Cosa holds that russet colour for 20 to 30 years with no painting and no winter storage. Brushed stainless instead keeps the finish it arrived with and never patinates, which suits a contemporary terrace of glass, render and pale stone, though it wants an occasional wipe to stay that way. Choose the Cosa, which is Corten, if you want the piece to settle into the garden and read as part of it; if a fixed silver finish matters more, our stainless fire pit guide covers the alternatives we stock. The one thing to plan for is the Cosa's first season: Corten bleeds orange run-off onto pale paving while it patinates, and on porous stone that can leave a permanent mark, so settle its position before you light it. Our fire pit materials guide sets out how each material ages.

Plancha, pizza oven or fire pit: which Adezz piece cooks what?

A plancha is a solid steel cooking plate heated from beneath, so it handles fish, vegetables and anything that would fall through a grill bar. The Dome pizza oven is a closed wood-fired chamber for pizza and bread instead. A plain fire pit like the Halo is for the fire rather than the food. If you want one piece that does fire and cooking on a small patio, the Cosa at £939 is the compact answer.

Key Points of Interest

  • We recommend using vegetable oils with a higher smoke point, such as groundnut oil or sunflower oil, to cook on the grill plate.
  • The grill functions optimally after it has been used once or twice, allowing the oil to 'season' the plate. Allowing the oil to 'burn in' protects the grill from rusting when not in use and makes cooking easier.
  • The grill can be cleaned simply by oiling it and scraping off residue with a spatula. Apply a final coat of oil to the grill plate before storing to prevent rust.
  • Products should be unpacked immediately upon receipt to release any moisture trapped inside the packaging. This moisture can cause stains that are difficult to remove.
  • It is important that the product is positioned on a firm, levelled surface. If the ground is not level, the weight of the product will be unevenly distributed. This can cause stress damage.
  • We do not recommend using corten steel within 2 km of a coastline.
  • The weathering process may cause rust run-off.
  • Rust can be fixed by applying Owatrol. This is a penetrating rust inhibitor that forms a protective anti-rust coating. Owatrol protects the product and stops the rust on corten steel flaking off.
  • Clean annually by hosing off dirt with clean tap water.
