What to Know:

- The glaze or natural clay finish will change colour and blacken around the rim with use. This is cosmetic and expected, and is not covered by the warranty.
- The steel stand will rust if left outdoors, cosmetic only and can be repainted.

Chimalin AFC is a fireproof clay Gardeco developed and launched in 2016, specifically to resist the thermal-shock cracking that affects ordinary Mexican clay chimeneas. It's backed by a genuine 5 year warranty against that kind of cracking, which Gardeco does not offer on its plain clay range.
Does the Sempra come with a stand and lid?
Yes, every colourway includes a matching metal stand and clay lid as standard. No assembly is required, it arrives ready to position.
What does the 5 year warranty actually cover?
Cracking caused by thermal shock, the heat of the fire itself. It doesn't cover damage from being dropped, knocked over, blown over by wind, general misuse, or glaze crazing from heavy high-temperature use. You need to register the warranty with Gardeco by emailing info@gardeco.co.uk.
What fuel does the Sempra burn?
Dry wood logs or charcoal. Because Chimalin AFC resists thermal shock, you can build a larger fire than you would in an ordinary clay chimenea, though the same sensible fire-safety practices still apply.
