Overview:
- The Orbit is a raised, glass-surrounded fireplace built around a 360-degree flame view, designed to be seen from any seat in the room rather than framed from one side like most fireplaces.
Design & Build:
- A raised stainless steel base lifts the flame to eye level, wrapped in glass on every side. It runs on the same AB3 burner as most of the Designer range, delivering 5,800 BTU/h (6.1 MJ/h).
What it does well:
- The 360-degree glass surround means it doesn't need to sit against a wall or in a corner to work visually; it's built to be a genuine centrepiece with seating on every side. It runs 8 to 11 hours on a 2.5-litre fill.
Trade-off worth knowing:
- At 54.3kg and indoor use only, it needs a permanent floor position rather than being moved around like the lighter T-Lite or Pop pieces. EcoSmart states it heats roughly 20m² of space; there's no published minimum room volume figure for this model, so check it suits your room before ordering.
