Overview:
- The Firebox 1400CV is the larger of EcoSmart's two Curved Fireplaces, a 1640mm wraparound glass insert built for a feature wall that needs the biggest curved flame view in the range, not just the widest opening.
Design & Build:
- Mild steel construction with a curved toughened glass front and a sliding glass screen that acts as both a safety barrier and a shield against wind. It shares its Grade 304 stainless XL12 burner with the Frame 1500SS, delivering 15,290 BTU/h (16.13 MJ/h) from a 10-litre tank, the largest burner and tank in the Curved range.
What it does well:
- Runs 9 to 14 hours per fill, the longest burn time of either Curved model, and is rated for a 115m³ room, ahead of the 1100CV's 110m³. At 1640mm wide, it's also the wider of the two, suited to a more substantial feature wall.
Trade-off worth knowing:
- At 71.7kg and 1640mm wide it's a heavier, wider commitment than the 1100CV, and needs a genuinely curved or angled surround to make sense of the shape. If your wall space is tighter, the 1100CV gives most of the same curved-glass effect in a smaller footprint.
Certification:
- This model is certified to EN 16647, the UK and EU safety standard for indoor bioethanol fireplaces.
