Orbit questions, answered
Does the Orbit need a chimney or flue?
No. It runs on bioethanol, which burns clean with no smoke, embers or soot, so there is nothing to vent. It is entirely freestanding and needs no installation of any kind.
Can the Orbit be used outdoors?
No, this model is rated for indoor use only. It needs a room of at least ~20m² heating coverage (no published minimum room volume).
How is the Orbit installed?
It isn't installed in the usual sense: it arrives assembled, ready to place on a floor, table or hearth and fuel up. There is no fixing, wiring or building work.
What does the Orbit actually cost to run for an evening?
A full 2.5 litre fill burns for 8-11 hours. We sell e-NRG bioethanol at £65 for a 20 litre carton, so a full fill is about £8 and a three-hour evening works out at roughly £2 to £3. There is no standing cost, since it only uses fuel while it is alight.
How does Orbit compare to the other freestanding Designer pieces?
Orbit is the only piece in the Designer range with a full 360-degree glass surround, built to be seen from every seat in the room rather than framed from one side. Be is a two-sided corner piece; Ghost is a slim room-divider shape; Igloo is the highest-output of the four. Choose Orbit specifically if the fire needs to work as a true centrepiece with seating on every side.
Which fuel does the Orbit burn, and do you sell it?
It runs on e-NRG bioethanol, which we stock in 20 litre cartons. Bioethanol produces no smoke, embers or ash, so there is nothing to clean out after use.
Are there any accessories that fit the Orbit?
Yes. Its AB3 burner takes the AB3 Lid, sold separately.
