Overview:
- The Igloo is the largest model in EcoSmart's Designer Fireplaces range and the most powerful of the AB3/BK5-burner pieces, built on the same BK5 burner as the smallest Heritage fireboxes rather than the smaller AB3 burner most of the Designer range shares.

Design & Build:
- Made entirely of glass and stainless steel, with a low, bench-like profile at 978mm wide and 904mm tall. The BK5 burner delivers 13,000 BTU/h (13.72 MJ/h), more than double the 5,800 BTU/h of the AB3-burner Designer pieces.

What it does well:
- Runs 7 to 11 hours on a 5-litre fill and is rated for a 70m³ room, well ahead of the 40m³ most AB3-burner Designer pieces cover. Its low, open profile also works as a genuine room divider or bench-height feature.

Trade-off worth knowing:
- At 54.10kg it's one of the heavier pieces in the Designer range, and its £3,295 price is the highest of any variant across the 13 models in this batch. It's also indoor use only.

Igloo questions, answered
Does the Igloo need a chimney or flue?
No. It runs on bioethanol, which burns clean with no smoke, embers or soot, so there is nothing to vent. It is entirely freestanding and needs no installation of any kind.
Can the Igloo be used outdoors?
No, this model is rated for indoor use only. It needs a room of at least 70m³.
How is the Igloo installed?
It isn't installed in the usual sense: it arrives assembled, ready to place on a floor, table or hearth and fuel up. There is no fixing, wiring or building work.
What does the Igloo actually cost to run for an evening?
A full 5 litre fill burns for 7-11 hours. We sell e-NRG bioethanol at £65 for a 20 litre carton, so a full fill is about £16 and a three-hour evening works out at roughly £4 to £7. There is no standing cost, since it only uses fuel while it is alight.
How does Igloo compare to the other freestanding Designer pieces?
Igloo is the largest and most powerful of the four, running the BK5 burner (13,000 BTU/h) rather than the AB3 burner Be and Ghost share - more than double their output, and rated for a 70m³ room against their 40m³. Orbit runs the same AB3 burner as Be and Ghost but doesn't publish a room-volume rating (only a ~20m² heating-coverage figure), so it isn't a direct comparison on that measure. Igloo is also the highest-priced variant across the whole 13-model Designer launch.
Which fuel does the Igloo burn, and do you sell it?
It runs on e-NRG bioethanol, which we stock in 20 litre cartons. Bioethanol produces no smoke, embers or ash, so there is nothing to clean out after use.

It is a good fit if:
