Overview:
- A compact, low-set square table built for smaller spaces: verandahs, balconies, courtyards and apartment patios where a full-size fire table wouldn't fit.

Design & Build:
- The 100cm square tabletop comes in Natural or Graphite Fluid Concrete Composite, finished to resist scratches, stains and mould through a full UK outdoor season. An optional square or round glass fire screen is available separately for wind protection.

Fuel:
- Three fuel options: Bioethanol for indoor or outdoor use, or Liquid Propane and Natural Gas for outdoor use only. Bioethanol delivers 6kW (20,433 BTU/h) with a 7 to 9 hour burn from 8 litres. Gas runs hotter, up to 65,000 BTU/h: Liquid Propane lasts 8 to 20 hours per tank, Natural Gas burns for as long as you leave it on.

What it does well:
- Its 24.8cm height and 100cm square footprint make it an easy fit for a couple of armchairs or a loveseat, somewhere a longer rectangular table wouldn't sit right.

Trade-off worth knowing:
- Only two finishes are offered here (Natural and Graphite), fewer than most tables in this range; if you want Bone, the larger Vertigo 50 or another model will suit better.

Certification:
- This model is certified to EN 16647, the UK and EU safety standard for indoor bioethanol fireplaces.
Natural Gas requires professional installation: a certified plumber must fit a permanent gas connection before use. This installation is not included in the price and is not arranged by us; it is the customer's responsibility. Liquid Propane needs no installation and runs from an external tank.
Vertigo 40 questions, answered
Can the Vertigo 40 be used indoors?
Yes, on bioethanol. It needs a room of at least 116m³ (4,097 ft³). The Liquid Propane and Natural Gas versions are for outdoor use only.
How is the Vertigo 40 delivered, and will I need help getting it into place?
Delivery is free to UK mainland, and it comes on a pallet to the easiest access point on your property, usually the driveway or the front of the house. It is not brought inside, unpacked or assembled. Plan on two people to move it the last stretch. It weighs 69.3kg and is 100cm x 100cm across. If access is tight, message us before ordering and we will talk it through.
What does the Vertigo 40 actually cost to run for an evening?
On bioethanol: a full 8 litre fill burns for 7-9 hours. We sell e-NRG bioethanol at £65 for a 20 litre carton, so a full fill is about £26 and a three-hour evening works out at roughly £9 to £11. There is no standing cost, since it only uses fuel while it is alight. Liquid Propane and Natural Gas running costs depend on your tank/meter supplier, so we cannot quote a fixed figure for those.
Does the Vertigo 40 need professional installation?
Only the Natural Gas version. That needs a certified plumber to fit a permanent gas connection before use; the installation is not included in the price and is not arranged by us. Bioethanol and Liquid Propane need no installation, and Liquid Propane runs from an external tank you can disconnect and move.
What is the difference between the Vertigo 40 and the other 100cm tables?
Same footprint and burner as the Ark 40, Base 40, Mojito 40 and Pod 40. At 24.8cm it is noticeably lower than the three other tables (33.8-33.9cm) and the Pod 40 bowl, which stands taller still at 50.4cm. It also only comes in Natural or Graphite.
Which fuel does the Vertigo 40 burn, and do you sell it?
The bioethanol version runs on e-NRG bioethanol, which we stock in 20 litre cartons. Bioethanol produces no smoke, embers or ash, so there is no flue and nothing to clear out afterwards.
Can I leave the Vertigo 40 outside all year?
Yes. The concrete composite is made to handle a full UK outdoor season; a twice-yearly coat of clear polymer sealer keeps it looking new (see the manufacturer's care guide).
Who the Vertigo 40 is for
It is a good fit if:
- You want the lowest profile of the four tables in the group, at 24.8cm against 33.8-33.9cm for the Ark 40/Base 40/Mojito 40: it sits closest to true coffee-table height, built to pair with armchairs, loveseats or ottomans.
- You are furnishing a compact space (balcony, apartment patio, small courtyard) where the compact style was specifically designed to fit.
Consider something else if:
- You want more than two finishes. Vertigo 40 offers Natural and Graphite only, the narrowest choice in this size class; a bigger Vertigo (the 127cm Vertigo 50) adds Bone.
- Your room is smaller than 116m³ (4,097 ft³) and you want to burn it indoors. Outdoors there is no room-size requirement at all.
