Overview:
- Pod 30 takes its rounded shape from traditional pottery rather than the tabletop format of the rest of this range, a fire bowl built to sit as its own centrepiece on a patio or balcony rather than double as a table.

What it does well:
- It is the smaller of EcoSmart's two Pod sizes, sized for a patio or balcony where a full tabletop fire pit would not fit.

Design & Build:
- The concrete shell is available in Natural, Graphite or Bone, treated with Fluid Concrete Technology to resist scratches, staining and mould. Height-adjustable feet keep it level on uneven paving.

Fuel:
- Three fuel options: Bioethanol for indoor or outdoor use, or Liquid Propane and Natural Gas for outdoor use only. Bioethanol delivers 6kW (20,433 BTU/h) with a 7 to 9 hour burn from 8 litres. Gas runs hotter, up to 65,000 BTU/h: Liquid Propane lasts 8 to 20 hours per tank, Natural Gas burns for as long as you leave it on.

- This model is certified to EN 16647, the UK and EU safety standard for indoor bioethanol fireplaces.

Trade-off worth knowing:
- At 39.3kg it is lighter than most gas-capable pieces in the range, worth knowing if you expect to move it between summer and winter storage each year.
Natural Gas requires professional installation: a certified plumber must fit a permanent gas connection before use. This installation is not included in the price and is not arranged by us; it is the customer's responsibility. Liquid Propane needs no installation and runs from an external tank.
Pod 30 questions, answered
Can the Pod 30 be used indoors?
Yes, on bioethanol. It needs a room of at least 116m³ (4,097 ft³). The Liquid Propane and Natural Gas versions are for outdoor use only.
How is the Pod 30 delivered, and will I need help getting it into place?
Delivery is free to UK mainland, and it comes on a pallet to the easiest access point on your property, usually the driveway or the front of the house. It is not brought inside, unpacked or assembled. Plan on two people to move it the last stretch. It weighs 39.3kg and is 76.2cm x 76.2cm across. If access is tight, message us before ordering and we will talk it through.
What does the Pod 30 actually cost to run for an evening?
On bioethanol: a full 8 litre fill burns for 7-9 hours. We sell e-NRG bioethanol at £65 for a 20 litre carton, so a full fill is about £26 and a three-hour evening works out at roughly £9 to £11. There is no standing cost, since it only uses fuel while it is alight. Liquid Propane and Natural Gas running costs depend on your tank/meter supplier, so we cannot quote a fixed figure for those.
Does the Pod 30 need professional installation?
Only the Natural Gas version. That needs a certified plumber to fit a permanent gas connection before use; the installation is not included in the price and is not arranged by us. Bioethanol and Liquid Propane need no installation, and Liquid Propane runs from an external tank you can disconnect and move.
What is the difference between the Pod 30, Sidecar 24 and Base 30?
All three run the same AB8 burner, so heat and running cost are identical. Pod 30 is a round bowl (76.2cm x 76.2cm) with no flat tabletop. Sidecar 24 is our smallest fire pit table (61cm x 61cm), a compact square design. Base 30 (77.6cm x 77.6cm) is the only one of the three with a teak option.

Which fuel does the Pod 30 burn, and do you sell it?
The bioethanol version runs on e-NRG bioethanol, which we stock in 20 litre cartons. Bioethanol produces no smoke, embers or ash, so there is no flue and nothing to clear out afterwards.
Can I leave the Pod 30 outside all year?
Yes. The concrete composite is made to handle a full UK outdoor season. For extra protection we sell a fitted cover, a sensible way to keep rain and debris off it over winter.
Who the Pod 30 is for
It is a good fit if:
- You want a sculptural bowl rather than a flat-topped table, and the lowest price of our three compact pieces.
- You want its bigger sibling too: the Pod 40 is the same round bowl shape at 100cm.
Consider something else if:
- You want a flat surface to set drinks on: the Sidecar 24 or Base 30 both have a usable tabletop rim, which a bowl does not.
- Your room is smaller than 116m³ (4,097 ft³) and you want to burn it indoors.
How this compares to our other compact fire pits
Pod 30, Sidecar 24 and Base 30 are our three compact AB8 pieces, all under 80cm and all running the same burner, so heat and running cost are identical across the three. Unlike our 100cm range they aren't the same footprint: this is a genuine size and shape comparison, not one design in different bodies.
