-
Overview:
- This is the fourth height option in the Gin 90 line, built to the same 227cm tabletop as the Bar, Dining and Chat versions but set just 34.5cm off the ground, low enough to work as a genuine coffee table rather than a raised fire feature.
-
Design & Build:
- The tabletop comes in Natural, Graphite or Bone concrete, or Grade A teak for a warmer finish. Fluid Concrete Technology resists scratches, stains and mould, holding its look through a full UK outdoor season. Teak models include an integral toughened glass surround for extra safety (a smaller, built-in element, not the same as the optional Fire Screen accessory sold separately for wind protection).
-
Fuel:
- Three fuel options: Bioethanol for indoor or outdoor use, or Liquid Propane and Natural Gas for outdoor use only. Bioethanol delivers 4.4kW (15,000 BTU/h) with an 8 to 13 hour burn from 9 litres. Gas runs hotter, up to 65,000 BTU/h: Liquid Propane lasts 8 to 20 hours per tank, Natural Gas burns for as long as you leave it on.
-
What it does well:
- At 227cm long, it seats a full sofa's worth of people around the flame, but the low 34.5cm height means it reads as furniture first: a coffee table you could use every day, not just when the fire's lit.
-
Trade-off worth knowing:
- At 171kg, this needs a multi-person lift into position, and its low height suits low lounge seating (armchairs, sofas) far better than dining or bar-height chairs.
-
Certification:
- This model is certified to EN 16647, the UK and EU safety standard for indoor bioethanol fireplaces.
Natural Gas requires professional installation: a certified plumber must fit a permanent gas connection before use. This installation is not included in the price and is not arranged by us; it is the customer's responsibility. Liquid Propane needs no installation and runs from an external tank.
Gin 90 (Low) questions, answered
Can the Gin 90 (Low) be used indoors?+
Yes, on bioethanol. It needs a room of at least 110m³ (3,885 ft³). The Liquid Propane and Natural Gas versions are for outdoor use only.
How is the Gin 90 (Low) delivered, and will I need help getting it into place?+
Delivery is free to UK mainland, and it comes on a pallet to the easiest access point on your property, usually the driveway or the front of the house. It is not brought inside, unpacked or assembled. Plan on a three or four-person lift, or a hired trolley - this is not something two people should attempt. It weighs 171kg and is 227.2cm x 109.8cm across. If access is tight, message us before ordering and we will talk it through.
What does the Gin 90 (Low) actually cost to run for an evening?+
On bioethanol: a full 9 litre fill burns for 8-13 hours. We sell e-NRG bioethanol at £65 for a 20 litre carton, so a full fill is about £29 and a three-hour evening works out at roughly £7 to £11. There is no standing cost, since it only uses fuel while it is alight. Liquid Propane and Natural Gas running costs depend on your tank/meter supplier, so we cannot quote a fixed figure for those.
Does the Gin 90 (Low) need professional installation?+
Only the Natural Gas version. That needs a certified plumber to fit a permanent gas connection before use; the installation is not included in the price and is not arranged by us. Bioethanol and Liquid Propane need no installation, and Liquid Propane runs from an external tank you can disconnect and move.
What is the difference between the Gin 90 (Low) and the Gin 90 (Chat)?+
Same 227.2cm x 109.8cm tabletop, same burner, same heat and burn time. The only difference is height: 34.5cm against 59.5cm, which is why they're priced and positioned for different seating.
Which fuel does the Gin 90 (Low) burn, and do you sell it?+
The bioethanol version runs on e-NRG bioethanol, which we stock in 20 litre cartons. Bioethanol produces no smoke, embers or ash, so there is no flue and nothing to clear out afterwards.
Can I leave the Gin 90 (Low) outside all year?+
Yes. The concrete composite is made to handle a full UK outdoor season; a twice-yearly coat of clear polymer sealer keeps it looking new (see the manufacturer's care guide). Teak models can stay out year-round too and will weather to a silver-grey patina, which is cosmetic and does not affect the wood's strength.
Who the Gin 90 Low is for
It is a good fit if:
- You want the same 227cm Gin 90 tabletop as the Chat, Dining and Bar versions, at the lowest of the four heights (34.5cm), lower than a standard coffee table, so the flame sits well below eye line when you're seated.
- You want the entry point into the Gin 90 range: it's the lowest-priced of the four heights.
Consider something else if:
- You want a table you can rest an arm on from a normal armchair: the Gin 90 (Chat), at 59.5cm, sits at that arm-rest height instead.
- You want dining-height seating around it: the Gin 90 (Dining), at 74.5cm, is built for that.
- At 171kg this needs a multi-person lift into position.
How this compares to the rest of the Gin 90 range
Gin 90 is one table sold at four heights: the 227.2cm x 109.8cm tabletop, the XL900 burner and every fuel/heat figure are identical across all four. Only the height changes, and each one is built to match a specific seating height rather than being an arbitrary size: coffee table, lounge chair, dining chair or bar stool.
