-
Overview:
- Cosmo 50 pairs a low-slung lounge-table profile with a larger XL900 burner than the rest of the 50-inch range, so the flame reads as more of a centrepiece against the compact tabletop.
-
What it does well:
- It suits a space-conscious patio or balcony where a full-size fire pit table would not fit the seating layout.
-
Design & Build:
- The tabletop is available in Natural, Graphite or Bone concrete, treated with Fluid Concrete Technology against scratches, staining and mould, or in Grade A teak with a toughened glass screen fitted around the flame.
-
Fuel:
- Three fuel options: Bioethanol for indoor or outdoor use, or Liquid Propane and Natural Gas for outdoor use only. Bioethanol delivers 4.4kW (15,000 BTU/h) with an 8 to 13 hour burn from 9 litres. Gas runs hotter, up to 65,000 BTU/h: Liquid Propane lasts 8 to 20 hours per tank, Natural Gas burns for as long as you leave it on.
-
Certification:
- This model is certified to EN 16647, the UK and EU safety standard for indoor bioethanol fireplaces.
-
Trade-off worth knowing:
- At 68.1kg, expect a two-person lift into position.
Natural Gas requires professional installation: a certified plumber must fit a permanent gas connection before use. This installation is not included in the price and is not arranged by us; it is the customer's responsibility. Liquid Propane needs no installation and runs from an external tank.
Cosmo 50 questions, answered
Can the Cosmo 50 be used indoors?+
Yes, on bioethanol. It needs a room of at least 110m³ (3,885 ft³). The Liquid Propane and Natural Gas versions are for outdoor use only.
How is the Cosmo 50 delivered, and will I need help getting it into place?+
Delivery is free to UK mainland, and it comes on a pallet to the easiest access point on your property, usually the driveway or the front of the house. It is not brought inside, unpacked or assembled. Plan on two people to move it the last stretch. It weighs 68.1kg and is 127cm x 76.2cm across. If access is tight, message us before ordering and we will talk it through.
What does the Cosmo 50 actually cost to run for an evening?+
On bioethanol: a full 9 litre fill burns for 8-13 hours. We sell e-NRG bioethanol at £65 for a 20 litre carton, so a full fill is about £29 and a three-hour evening works out at roughly £7 to £11. There is no standing cost, since it only uses fuel while it is alight. Liquid Propane and Natural Gas running costs depend on your tank/meter supplier, so we cannot quote a fixed figure for those.
Does the Cosmo 50 need professional installation?+
Only the Natural Gas version. That needs a certified plumber to fit a permanent gas connection before use; the installation is not included in the price and is not arranged by us. Bioethanol and Liquid Propane need no installation, and Liquid Propane runs from an external tank you can disconnect and move.
What is the difference between the Cosmo 50, Wharf 65 and Daiquiri 70?+
All three share the XL900 burner, so heat and running cost are identical. Cosmo 50 is the smallest, from £3,195, at 127cm x 76.2cm. Wharf 65 steps up to 165cm x 100cm at a low lounge height (33.9cm). Daiquiri 70 is the longest at 180cm x 100cm and the lowest of the three, built for lounge-height seating.
What is included in the box?+
Includes:
- Operation manual
- Black Glass Charcoal (decorative media around the burner)
- Ethanol models also include a Jerry Can, Bottle Adaptor, refillable butane lighter (ships without butane) and Extendable Lighting Rod
Not Included (optional extras):
- XL900 Burner Cover
- Fire Screen
Which fuel does the Cosmo 50 burn, and do you sell it?+
The bioethanol version runs on e-NRG bioethanol, which we stock in 20 litre cartons. Bioethanol produces no smoke, embers or ash, so there is no flue and nothing to clear out afterwards.
Can I leave the Cosmo 50 outside all year?+
Yes. The concrete composite is made to handle a full UK outdoor season; a twice-yearly coat of clear polymer sealer keeps it looking new (see the manufacturer's care guide). Teak models can stay out year-round too and will weather to a silver-grey patina, which is cosmetic and does not affect the wood's strength.
Who the Cosmo 50 is for
It is a good fit if:
- You want the entry point into our large XL900 table range: the smallest footprint and the lowest starting price of the three, at 127cm x 76.2cm.
- You want the same footprint as the Manhattan 50 or Martini 50 but a longer burn: the XL900 here runs 8-13 hours per fill against their AB8's 7-9 hours, at a lower 4.4kW output.
Consider something else if:
- You want a longer table for a bigger group: the Wharf 65 and Daiquiri 70 are both longer.
- Your room is smaller than 110m³ (3,885 ft³) and you want to burn it indoors. Outdoors there is no room-size requirement at all.
How this compares to our other large XL900 fire tables
Cosmo 50, Wharf 65 and Daiquiri 70 are three mid-size rectangular tables running the XL900 burner: 4.4kW / 15,000 BTU/h on bioethanol, 8-13 hours per fill from 9 litres. Heat and running cost are identical across the three; the difference is size, table height and price. (Our four Gin 90 tables also run the XL900 burner, at a larger 227cm and a higher price point.)
| Model | Shape | Pick it for | Height | Price | Weight | Finishes |

| Cosmo 50 (this one) | Rectangular, linear flame | Smallest, lowest starting price of the three | 29.6cm | £3,195 to £4,195 | 68.1kg | Natural, Graphite, Bone, Teak |
| Wharf 65 | Rectangular, offset linear flame | Mid-size, low lounge height | 33.9cm | £3,995 to £4,695 | 105kg | Natural, Graphite, Bone, Teak |
| Daiquiri 70 | Rectangular, low-height, linear | Longest and lowest, built for lounge seating | 24.8cm | £3,995 | 121kg | Natural, Bone |
