Overview:
- At 77.6cm square, the Base 30 is a genuine coffee table first, flame second, proportioned to sit in the middle of a seating group rather than dominate it.

Design & Build:
- Concrete Composite top in Natural, Graphite or Bone, or Grade A teak with an integral toughened glass surround for extra safety (a smaller, built-in element, not the same as the optional Fire Screen accessory sold separately for wind protection), plus standard decorative glass media in the burner tray.

Fuel:
- Three fuel options: Bioethanol for indoor or outdoor use, or Liquid Propane and Natural Gas for outdoor use only. Bioethanol delivers 6kW (20,433 BTU/h) with a 7 to 9 hour burn from 8 litres. Gas runs hotter, up to 65,000 BTU/h: Liquid Propane lasts 8 to 20 hours per tank, Natural Gas burns for as long as you leave it on.

- Its 33.9cm height keeps it at true coffee-table proportions, notably lower than the 50.9cm Chaser 38 elsewhere in this range.

- At 52.4kg it's lighter than most tables in this range, but still a two-person job to move once assembled.
Natural Gas requires professional installation: a certified plumber must fit a permanent gas connection before use. This installation is not included in the price and is not arranged by us; it is the customer's responsibility. Liquid Propane needs no installation and runs from an external tank.
Base 30 questions, answered
Can the Base 30 be used indoors?
Yes, on bioethanol. It needs a room of at least 116m³ (4,097 ft³). The Liquid Propane and Natural Gas versions are for outdoor use only.
How is the Base 30 delivered, and will I need help getting it into place?
Delivery is free to UK mainland, and it comes on a pallet to the easiest access point on your property, usually the driveway or the front of the house. It is not brought inside, unpacked or assembled. Plan on two people to move it the last stretch. It weighs 52.4kg and is 77.6cm x 77.6cm across. If access is tight, message us before ordering and we will talk it through.
What does the Base 30 actually cost to run for an evening?
On bioethanol: a full 8 litre fill burns for 7-9 hours. We sell e-NRG bioethanol at £65 for a 20 litre carton, so a full fill is about £26 and a three-hour evening works out at roughly £9 to £11. There is no standing cost, since it only uses fuel while it is alight. Liquid Propane and Natural Gas running costs depend on your tank/meter supplier, so we cannot quote a fixed figure for those.
Does the Base 30 need professional installation?
Only the Natural Gas version. That needs a certified plumber to fit a permanent gas connection before use; the installation is not included in the price and is not arranged by us. Bioethanol and Liquid Propane need no installation, and Liquid Propane runs from an external tank you can disconnect and move.
What is the difference between the Base 30 and the Base 40?
Same closed-block design and burner. Base 30 is smaller (77.6cm x 77.6cm) and cheaper, from £1,895; Base 40 is bigger (100cm x 100cm), from £2,195.
Which fuel does the Base 30 burn, and do you sell it?
The bioethanol version runs on e-NRG bioethanol, which we stock in 20 litre cartons. Bioethanol produces no smoke, embers or ash, so there is no flue and nothing to clear out afterwards.
Can I leave the Base 30 outside all year?
Yes. The concrete composite is made to handle a full UK outdoor season. For extra protection we sell a fitted cover, a sensible way to keep rain and debris off it over winter. Teak models can stay out year-round too and will weather to a silver-grey patina, which is cosmetic and does not affect the wood's strength.
Who the Base 30 is for
It is a good fit if:
- You want it to double as a genuine coffee table, closed solid sides, when the fire is off.
- You want the option of teak: it's the only one of our three compact pieces that offers it.
Consider something else if:
- You want the smallest footprint: the Sidecar 24 is more compact at 61cm x 61cm.
- Your room is smaller than 116m³ (4,097 ft³) and you want to burn it indoors.
How this compares to our other compact fire pits
Pod 30, Sidecar 24 and Base 30 are our three compact AB8 pieces, all under 80cm and all running the same burner, so heat and running cost are identical across the three. Unlike our 100cm range they aren't the same footprint: this is a genuine size and shape comparison, not one design in different bodies.
