Top Support Glass

The Cosmo Top Support Glass is a precision-cut tempered glass windshield for the Cosmo fire pit. It sits at the top of the fire bowl to protect the flame from wind interference, allowing the fire to burn steadily even on evenings when a breeze would otherwise disrupt it, without hiding the flame behind a solid screen.

Tempered glass is the correct choice for this application: it withstands the radiant heat of the fire bowl, resists thermal shock from rain while the fire is lit, and will not distort or discolour over time the way acrylic or polycarbonate alternatives would. The glass panel also provides a degree of additional safety by containing any sparks or burning embers within the bowl.

Fitting the top support glass significantly extends the usable season of the Cosmo fire pit in exposed UK gardens. Without wind protection, a breeze above around 10mph will push flames sideways and produce irregular heat output. With the glass fitted, the fire burns predictably and cleanly.
