Planika Steamy | Remote Controlled Freestanding Water Vapor Indoor Fireplace

A real fireplace in a flat used to be impossible. The Planika Steamy makes it routine: a freestanding water-vapour fireplace that produces a convincing flame effect from mist and LED, with no combustion, no flue and no installation beyond plugging into a 13A socket.

The Steamy uses Planika's Optimyst system, which atomises water from a 1-litre tank and lights it with ActiveLED lighting to create the visual depth of a real flame. Six adjustable flame heights cover everything from a low ambient glow to a full hearth, set by remote or mobile app. Power consumption is just 125W, and a single tank lasts up to ten hours, refilled with filtered or distilled water in under a minute. A built-in storage space below the flame area takes decorative logs to complete the look.

Sleek, minimal and made for contemporary interiors, the Steamy is at home in modern living rooms, snugs and conversions where a wood burner is not an option. It is safe around children and pets, and the gentle humidifying effect is welcome on a dry winter evening.

Steamy questions, answered

Who the Steamy is for

It is a good fit if:

• Modern living rooms and snugs where a wood burner is not an option but the look of stacked logs still matters.
• Households with children or pets who want a genuine flame effect without any combustion risk.
• Buyers who want a slightly more finished, furnished look than the plainer Misty.

Consider something else if:

• You want real radiant heat: this is a visual flame effect, not a heat source.
• You specifically want a real bioethanol flame: see Arcticon or Bubble instead.
