  • Overview:
    • Heatscope's entry point into the Spot range: a 1,600W electric radiant heater that gives a subtle orange glow rather than a bright bar-heater glare, using a colour-matched grill screen in front of satin-finish carbon heating elements.
  • Design & Build:
    • Aluminium body measuring 670 x 184 x 78mm and weighing 4kg, available in Black or White. Wall or ceiling mounted, indoors or outdoors, on standard UK 220-240V mains at 7A.
  • Control & Installation:
    • Ships with mounting parts and a 2-step IR remote for 100% or 50% power. Reaches full heat in around 15 seconds, with a radiant efficiency of 94% or higher and a surface temperature of up to 300°C.
  • What it does well:
    • The smallest and most affordable heater in the range, sharing the same 94% radiant efficiency and low-glare design as the larger Spot 2800W in a more compact footprint suited to balconies and smaller patios.
  • Trade-off worth knowing:
    • No ZigBee or Dual WiFi Smart Switch support on this model - control is limited to the included IR remote. Dual Fixing Brackets and Extension Rods are available separately if you need to mount two units together or reach a higher ceiling.

Spot 1600W questions, answered

How much does the Spot 1600W cost to run?

At 1,600W and the current Ofgem price cap unit rate of 26.11p/kWh (Jul-Sep 2026), running it flat out costs around 42p per hour. The included remote's 50% setting roughly halves that.

Can the Spot 1600W be controlled with an app or smart home system?

No. This model doesn't support the ZigBee or Dual WiFi Smart Switch accessories the rest of the range uses - control is via the included 2-step IR remote only.

Does the Spot 1600W need professional installation?

It needs a qualified electrician for the fixed wall or ceiling wiring; this isn't included in the price. No gas line or flue is needed since it's fully electric.

Can I mount two Spot 1600W units together?

Yes, using the separately-sold Dual Fixing Brackets, which install two heaters in one mounting system.

What's the difference between the Spot 1600W and Spot 2800W?

Same grille-front design and glow, but the Spot 2800W outputs 2,800W (vs 1,600W), costs £255 more, and adds ZigBee/Dual WiFi Smart Switch compatibility plus an optional flush-ceiling Lift system that the 1600W doesn't offer.

Is the Spot 1600W suitable for indoor use?

Yes, it's rated for indoor or outdoor installation.

Who Spot 1600W is for

It is a good fit if:

  • You want Heatscope's lowest-priced entry point (£695) and don't need smart-home control.
  • You're heating a smaller balcony or compact patio and don't need the full 2,800W of the Spot 2800W.

Consider something else if:

  • You want ZigBee or app-style control, or a flush-ceiling Lift-system install - step up to the Spot 2800W or Vision 3200W.

How this compares to the Spot 2800W

Spot 1600W and Spot 2800W share the same grille-front design and low-glare glow, but the 2800W adds smart-home compatibility and a Lift-system mounting option the 1600W doesn't offer.
